ITI Admission — Trade Skills That Employ You
NCVT and SCVT recognised trades after 10th (some after 8th), typically one to two years, leading to a practical, employable certification and — for many trades — a route into a polytechnic diploma afterwards.

Why an ITI trade is worth considering
- Short and practical — one or two years, mostly hands-on workshop training rather than theory.
- Employment-oriented — trade certification is a stated requirement for many technician posts, apprenticeships and PSU vacancies.
- Affordable — government ITI fees are among the lowest of any post-10th qualification.
- Apprenticeship route — trade training commonly leads into a paid apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act.
- Not a dead end — ITI holders can enter a polytechnic diploma through lateral entry, and later a B.Tech.
- Self-employment — electrician, plumbing, welding, AC repair and tailoring trades support independent work directly.
ITI admission after a study gap
ITI admission is one of the more accessible routes after a break. Trades generally require only that you have passed 10th (8th for some), and a gap of several years is usually not a barrier in itself.
Two things to confirm for your case: whether the institute has an age condition for the trade, and whether admission is currently through a state counselling window or direct application. We check both before you apply.

- Photo ID, photographs, category certificate if applicable
- Gap declaration only if the institute requires it
